“John John” is a 7 year old red roan John mule standing 14.3 hands. John John has been used extensively on the ranch doing all aspects of ranch work. He has done it all, from dragging calves to doctoring yearlings outside. He’s also been used to help start colts! He has ponied babies and snubbed colts for their first ride. John John is stout to the horn and knows how to pull! He has been in the mountains and out in the desert, and knows how to travel and do a full day’s work. He is broke in the face, stays collected in your hand, and stays broke and gentle with time off. The coolest thing about this nice mule is that he rides around like a horse and has a total business mentality! However, he still has his mule tendencies. He likes his ears scratched and can be a little difficult to catch in a large herd, but if you come with some grain, he’s no problem at all! He is easy to catch in a pen. John John stands tied, loads in the trailer with ease and backs out. He is also hobble broke and will not leave if you have to stop off and drop him. He doesn’t have a ton of packing experience, but we have packed salt and mineral off of him and he didn’t seem to mind. He is good for the farrier and is easy to clip. He has mainly been ridden without a britchen, but can be if necessary. John John will fit anyone who is confident enough to kick him around - he is super gentle but can be a little lazy! Whether you’re looking to trail ride or have a good working partner on the ranch, John John will surely hold up to the task!
