“Leo Blue Star” is a 2014 blue roan AQHA gelding 16 hands and weighing 1,300 lbs. “Duck” is an incredible all-around gelding for trail riding, ranching, roping, and more. He’s been ridden hundreds of miles in the Shawnee and has never refused a thing. He is safe and solid! Duck rides out alone, walks quietly in a group, keeps pace with walkers, trots and lopes out soft and will collect up beautifully and come right back down. He has tons of buttons, so he suits a confident rider best, but he’ll babysit too! We have a rider who only rides a few times a year, and he takes great care of her. Duck has competed in ranch rodeos, sorted cattle, and roped in the pasture. He pulls strong and has no fear of cows. He is also a nice head horse! He is super fast, very strong to the horn, and has a wicked face. He works best when kept scored and legged up during the week — he can get hot in the box if he’s only hauled to ropings. He is ideal for #12 ropings and up, and was recently tuned up with Chad Tibbs. Duck also knows the barrel pattern and handles it well! He has not been tuned up on the barrels in about a year and a half. Duck is a total sweetheart in the pasture, loves kids, and is great with other horses. He stands quietly for the farrier (Steve Sermersheim) and the vet (I work there). He loads, bathes, and stands tied. He’s been turned out with everything, from a 30 year old retired head horse to a 2 year old Miniature Horse stud to Nigerian Dwarf Goats, and he never causes the slightest issue! I have a vet easily accessible as I work at an equine vet and sports medicine clinic and can set up extensive PPE’s at the buyer’s expense. Reach out to get something set up!
