Frostys Jr Onxy is sired by JR Onyx Bar, a grandson of Sonny Vista Bar ( 74 HLT Pts., '85 Superior HLT). JR Onyx Bar is a maternal grandson of Poco Burleigh, by the legendary Poco Pine. Poco Pine earned 135 points in halter, 15 in cutting and two in western pleasure.  In 1959, he was given a Superior in halter, and in 1960, he was honored as an AQHA Champion.  On the Bottom, Frostys San Peppt is by Jans San Peppy and out of a Frosty Feature Mare. Frosty Feature (SI:81, ROM holder) has produced leading barrel horses.

After purchasing Maverick, he was nervous about having his feet messed with, such as applying splint boots and cleaning his feet. He has never kicked or been threatening about it, he just pulls and tries to move away. After moving slow with him and gaining his trust, this issue has gotten substantially better. He can still be nervous about his back feet from time to time. Our vet has recommended that we have his teeth floated annually.
