“Khan” is a striking 9 year old gelding standing at an impressive 18.1 hands and weighing approximately 1600 lbs. He is 3/4 Friesian and 1/4 Percheron—bringing together the power, grace, and elegance of both breeds.

Khan is broke to ride and green broke to drive, with a solid foundation in both groundwork and under saddle. He lunges, bathes, clips, ties, stands well for the farrier, and leads easily from a side-by-side. A true sweetheart, he’ll meet you at the gate and lower his head into the halter for you. He’s been taught to drop his head for haltering and bridling, and side-passes to a mounting block or anything you choose to get on from.

Under saddle, Khan is light in the bridle and responsive to leg cues. He rides collected at the walk, trot, and lope with a smooth, flowing gait that makes him a dream to sit. He side-passes, spins, backs up, and has a solid stop. He also knows how to two-track and counter-bend.

Khan has experience in the arena and has been out on trail rides. While he’s incredibly willing and well-trained, he can be uncertain in new environments, so we recommend an advanced rider to help him build confidence. Once he’s settled, he could suit a confident advanced intermediate rider.

Condition

When working hard he is a little bit of a loud breather, but it does not affect him. He knows how to slip his halter of when tied with a single rope. He doesn't do it all the time but if left tied unsupervised it is best to cross tie him.
