“Masterdandybar” is a 2009 AQHA gelding standing 16 hands. “Dutton” has the classic ranch horse look and the substance to match! Solid and confident with an athletic build, Dutton is the kind of horse you can count on to get a job done. We recently purchased Dutton from a retired cowboy after he spent the last several years being turned out. Despite the extended time off, he came back with a great mind and strong foundation. We gave him a light 30 day refresher, and he stepped right into our string with no buck or nonsense, and all business. We’ve been using Dutton as a lead horse on our guided trail rides in addition to putting him to work in Colorado’s high country. He handles steep trails, rough terrain, water crossings, and rocky ground with ease. He’s confident on the trail and comfortable moving out, making him the perfect mount for long days with real miles. Dutton moves off leg pressure, side passes, and stays honest throughout the ride. We’ve been riding him with pads on his front feet to help correct tenderness. He thrives in a working environment and would make a fantastic addition to any ranch string, outfitting crew, or cowboy’s remuda. Dutton is ready to step into a full time job on a working ranch or be someone’s go-to mount for trail riding, cattle work, or daily miles.

SELLING GRADE:
Dutton is registered with AQHA; however, we have not transferred the registration into our name. We recently purchased the horse from an old-timer, started putting miles on him, and decided to consign him with CHS at the last minute. A copy of the registration is attached for review.
MAINTENANCE:
We put pads on his front feet to correct some tenderness. The pads were a game changer for his performance. We recommend always riding him with pads on his front feet.
GROUND MANNERS:
Dutton can be obsessive over mares when turned out to pasture. We have reason to believe he was gelded late. He is always ready to go, so at times he can become anxious while tied up before a ride. Once he is worked, he will stand quietly.
