“New Doc In Town” is a 2022 bay roan AQHA gelding standing 15 hands. He is sired by New Cut In Town ($104,531 in NCHA earnings) by One Time Pepto (Peptoboonsmal) and is out of Playgirl Gypsy Lena (Tarplay, Freckles Playboy). You can absolutely (I do emphasize absolutely) sort & cut cows, calves, or bulls, rope, trip, and tie down - all in the pen or pasture! This gelding has loaded cows and calves in the trailer from the pasture. He has sorted and cut pairs by the hundreds, and tracked down breakout calves and/or calves to rope. When you get back to the herd, he is so quiet going through that you feel like a thief trying to steal them! He can get up to top speed on a dime. He was pulled from a cutting trainer in Oklahoma and brought to me to make into a ranch horse. When this horse came to me he was thin, weak, and to be honest, didn’t know enough. The amount he has evolved both athletically and mentally since then is mind blowing! He has traveled hundreds of miles along the fenceline, not counting the numerous miles of pen work since arriving here in Colorado. His life has been very intense! He’s roped Lord knows how many head of cattle, cut and sorted cow after cow, all while under my saddle. He has also been under two kid’s saddles and never made a bobble. He carries his head low and not once tried to take advantage of a kid. To me, this is a mountainous accomplishment for a horse, especially a 3 year old. Not once have I ever worried about his mind falling apart!
