This is a big, strong, athletic horse that has a good handle on him, big stop, and can go all day! He stands at 16 hands, 1200 pounds, and wears a size 2 shoe.
Nitro is great on trails or gathering cows and has been used to pen back cows and help sort. He crosses water and logs, loads and trailers easily, and is great with dogs. He has had colts worked off of him, roped the hot heels, and been used to demonstrate horsemanship techniques. He stands patiently to mount or get a gate, will ride off quietly away from a herd, and then can cover some country as soon as he’s asked.
He has been my go to mount for every job I have and has handled it all in stride. He is smart, athletic, and will make someone an excellent ranch partner! This horse has some quirks and will do best with a knowledgeable and experienced rider, but he loves to connect with his person and has proven to be extremely reliable. I have used Nitro as a teaching horse during my tenure at the University of Montana Western. Several students in my horsemanship classes have ridden him to enhance their understanding of advanced maneuvers. Many students have enjoyed his big movement & refined skills!
He sells up to date on coggins and vaccines and will come with a new set of shoes. Prepurchase exams available at the buyers expense, contact Megan Kelly at (406) 381-7355.
Please reach out if you are considering purchasing Nitro. He is a great horse and we hope to start his next partnership with success!
He has some scars on his hocks that indicate a bad wreck at some point but has never taken a lame step with me. He sells up to date on coggins and vaccines and will come with a new set of shoes.
It is the purchaser's responsibility to arrange & pay for hauling from the seller's location within 5 days of the close of the sale ( horses must be removed from seller's property by July 20th 2024 at 5pm).
