"TD Smart Hickory" - 2022 Red Roan AQHA Gelding - 14.3 Hands

"Hickory" is well on his way to being a great rope & arena horse! A son of Roan Hickory Boon (by Once In A Blue Boon), he is bred the right way for the job. We started him from the ground up! Hickory is roping out of the box smooth and correctly. He is alert and athletic, while staying soft in the mouth. We've also used him in the mountains a few times, and he willingly crosses water. We can't say enough good about this gelding - his future is bright!

TD Smart Hickory is sired by Roan Hickory Boon, a young stallion being shown in the cowhorse by TD Angus.  He is a son of Once In A Blu Boon, NCHA Open Futurity Champion (LTE $318K, PE $16M). Once In A Blu Boon is sired by Peptoboonsmal, one of AQHA’s all-time leading sires, with lifetime earnings of more than $180,000 and offspring earnings exceeding $28 million. TD Angus focuses their breeding program on producing trainable, athletic ranch horses - TD Smart Hickory’s dam, AO Smokin Smart was bred with intention to produce this cross.
